- Kapitel 8 -

Then the Lamb opened the seventh seal, and there was no sound at all in heaven for a short time.

I saw the seven angels who stand in front of God. He gave each of them a trumpet.

Another angel came and stood at the altar. He had a golden bowl for burning incense. God gave him a large quantity of incense in order that he might offer it, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the gold altar that is in front of God’s throne. Then he burned this incense on the altar.

From the bowl in the angel’s hand, the smoke of the incense, along with the prayers of God’s people, went up to God.

Then the angel took the golden bowl and filled it with coals of fire from the altar. He threw it all onto the earth. Thunder crashed and rumbled, lightning flashed, and the earth shook.

The First Four Trumpets

Then the seven angels, each of which had one of the seven trumpets, got ready to blow them.

The first angel blew his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood poured down onto the earth. As a result, one-third of everything on the surface of the land was burned up: one-third of the trees burned up, and one-third of all the green grass was burned up.

Then the second angel blew his trumpet, and something that was like a huge mountain burning with fire fell into the ocean. As a result, one-third of the ocean became red like blood,

one-third of the living creatures in the ocean died, and one-third of the ships in the ocean were destroyed.

Then the third angel blew his trumpet, and a huge star, which was burning like a torch, fell from the sky into one-third of the rivers and into one-third of the springs of water.

The name of the star is Bitterness. As a result, the water in one-third of the rivers and springs became bitter. Many people died from drinking the water because it had become bitter.

Then the fourth angel blew his trumpet, and God struck the sun, the moon, and the stars so that they lost their light for one-third of the time. The sun did not shine during one-third of the day, and the moon and stars did not shine during one-third of the night.

As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying high in the sky shouting in a loud voice, “Terrible things will happen to the people who live on the earth when the three remaining angels blow their trumpets! They are about to blow them!”

Und als es das siebente Siegel geöffnet hatte, war eine Stille im Himmel, etwa eine halbe Stunde lang.

Und ich sah die sieben Engel, welche vor Gott standen, und es wurden ihnen sieben Posaunen gegeben.

Und ein anderer Engel kam und trat vor dem Altar, ein goldenes Rauchfass haltend, und es wurde ihm viel Räucherwerk gegeben, damit er von den Gebeten aller Heiligen auf den goldenen Altar vor dem Throne Gottes legte.

Und es stieg auf der Rauch des Räucherwerkes von den Gebeten der Heiligen aus der Hand des Engels vor Gott.

Und der Engel nahm das Weihrauchfass, und füllte es mit Feuer vom Altare, und warf es auf die Erde; da entstanden Donner und Stimmen, und Blitze und großes Erdbeben.

Und die sieben Engel, welche die sieben Posaunen hatten, machten sich bereit in dieselben zu stoßen.

Erste Posaune: Die Vegetation wird vernichtet

Der erste Engel stieß in die Posaune; da entstand Hagel und Feuer mit Blut gemischt, und es ward auf die Erde geworfen, und der dritte Teil der Erde ward verbrannt, der dritte Teil der Bäume ward durch Feuer vernichtet, und alles grüne Gras ward versengt.

Zweite Posaune: Die Meere sind geschlagen

Und der zweite Engel stieß in die Posaune; da wurde etwas wie ein großer im Feuer brennender Berg in das Meer geworfen, und der dritte Teil des Meeres ward zu Blut,

und es starb der dritte Teil der Geschöpfe, die im Meere leben, und der dritte Teil der Schiffe ging zu Grunde.

Dritte Posaune: Das Wasser ist getroffen

Und der dritte Engel stieß in die Posaune. Da fiel ein großer Stern vom Himmel, brennend wie eine Fackel, und fiel auf den dritten Teil der Flüsse und auf die Wasserquellen.

Und der Name des Sternes heißt Wermut. Und der dritte Teil der Gewässer ward zu Wermut; und viele Menschen starben von den Wassern, weil sie bitter geworden waren.

Vierte Posaune: Der Himmel wird gestürmt

Und der vierte Engel stieß in die Posaune; da ward der dritte Teil der Sonne getroffen, und der dritte Teil des Mondes, und der dritte Teil der Sterne, so dass der dritte Teil derselben verfinstert ward, und der Tag zu einem Drittel nicht mehr hell war, und die Nacht gleicherweise.

Und ich schaute, und hörte die Stimme eines Adlers, der mitten durch den Himmel flog und mit lauter Stimme rief: Wehe, wehe, wehe den Bewohnern der Erde wegen des übrigen Schalles der drei Engel, die noch in die Posaune stoßen sollen.
