- Kapitel 87 -

The Lord loves the gates of Zion

A Canticle Psalm to the sons of Korah. Its foundations are in the holy mountains:(a)

the Lord loves the gates of Zion above all the tabernacles of Jacob.

Glorious things are being said of you, O City of God.

I will be mindful of Rahab and of Babylon knowing me. Behold, the foreigners, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians: these have been there.(b)

Will not Zion say that this man and that man were born in her? And the Most High himself has founded her.(c)

The Lord will explain, in the writings of peoples and of leaders, about those who have been in her.

For so the dwelling place within you is with all rejoicing.

Der HERR liebt die Tore von Zion

Von den Söhnen Kores, ein Psalmlied. Seine Grundfesten liegen auf heiligen Bergen,

es liebt der Herr die Tore Sions mehr denn alle Wohnungen Jakobs.

Herrliches ist von dir verheißen, o Stadt Gottes!

Ich will Rahabs gedenken und Babylons als solcher, die mich erkennen. Siehe, die Fremdlinge, der Tyrier und das Volk der Äthiopier, sie sind daselbst.

Wird man nicht von Sion sagen: Mensch um Mensch ist in ihm geboren; und der Höchste hat es gegründet?

Der Herr verkündet es im Verzeichnis der Völker und Fürsten, derer, die in ihm weilen.

Dann wird ihr Wohnen in dir sein wie das Wohnen von lauter Frohlockenden.
