- Kapitel 6 -

(Colossians 3:18–21)

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

“Honor your father and mother”, which is the first commandment with promise,

“so that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger. Instead, raise them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Serving with Honor

(Colossians 3:22–25; 1 Timothy 6:1–2)

Slaves, be obedient to your earthly masters with deep respect and trembling, in the honesty of your heart. Be obedient to them as you would be obedient to Christ.

Be obedient not only when your masters are watching in order to please them. Instead, be obedient as slaves of Christ, who do the will of God from your heart.

Serve with all your heart, as though you were serving the Lord and not people,

because we know that for whatever good deed each person does, he will receive a reward from the Lord, whether he is slave or free.

Masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them. You know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

The Full Armor of God

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the scheming plans of the devil.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood. Instead, it is against the governments and spiritual authorities and rulers of the realm of evil darkness, against the evil spirits in heavenly places.

Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand in this time of evil, and after you have done everything, to stand firm.

Stand, therefore, after you have put on the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness.

Then as shoes for your feet, put on the readiness to proclaim the gospel of peace.

In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, by which you will be able to put out all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit. With this mind, always be watching with all perseverance, as you offer prayers for all God’s holy people.

And pray for me, that a message might be given to me when I open my mouth. Pray that I might make known with boldness the hidden truth about the gospel.

It is for the gospel that I am an ambassador who is kept in chains, so that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Final Greetings

(Philippians 4:21–23; 2 Timothy 4:19–22)

Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you may know how I am doing.

I have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know how we are, and so that he may encourage your hearts.

Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

May grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with a love that never dies.

Kinder und Eltern

(Kolosser 3,18-21)

Ihr Kinder! gehorchet euren Eltern im Herrn; denn das ist recht.

Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter; dies ist das erste Gebot mit der Verheißung,

dass es dir wohl gehe und du lange lebest auf Erden.

Und ihr Väter! erbittert eure Kinder nicht, sondern ziehet sie auf in der Zucht und Zurechtweisung des Herrn.

Knechte und Herren

(Kolosser 3,22-25; 1. Timotheus 6,1-2)

Ihr Knechte! gehorchet euren leiblichen Herren mit Furcht und Zittern, in der Einfalt eures Herzens, wie Christus;

nicht in Augendienerei als solche, die Menschen gefallen wollen, sondern als Diener Christi, den Willen Gottes von Herzen erfüllend,

mit gutem Willen dienend, als dem Herrn, und nicht Menschen;

im Bewusstsein, dass ein jeder das Gute, das er tut, vom Herrn zurückempfangen wird, er sei Knecht oder Freier.

Und ihr Herren! tuet dasselbe gegen sie und lasset ab von Drohungen; euch bewusst, dass ihr wie sie einen Herrn im Himmel habt, und das bei ihm kein Ansehen der Person gilt.

Die ganze Waffenrüstung Gottes

Im übrigen, Brüder! erstarket im Herrn und in der Kraft seiner Macht.

Ziehet an die Waffenrüstung Gottes, damit ihr standzuhalten vermöget gegen die Nachstellungen des Teufels;

denn wir haben nicht den Kampf wider Fleisch und Blut zu führen, sondern wider die Mächte und Gewalten, wider die Weltbeherrscher dieser Finsternis, wider die Geister der Bosheit unter dem Himmel.

Darum ergreifet die Waffenrüstung Gottes, damit ihr am bösen Tage widerstehen und in allem vollkommen standhalten könnet.

So stehet denn, eure Lenden umgürtet mit Wahrheit, angetan mit dem Panzer der Gerechtigkeit,

eure Füße beschuht mit der Bereitschaft des Evangeliums des Friedens;

zu allem den Schild des Glaubens ergreifend, mit welchem ihr alle feurigen Geschosse des Argen auslöschen könnt,

und nehmet den Helm des Heiles, und das Schwert des Geistes (welches ist das Wort Gottes)

unter Gebet und Flehen jeder Art, indem ihr zu aller Zeit im Geiste bittet, und dafür wachsam seid, mit aller Beharrlichkeit und in Fürbitte für alle Heiligen,

auch für mich, damit mir das Wort gegeben werde, wenn ich meinen Mund auftue, das Geheimnis des Evangeliums mit Zuversicht kund zu tun,

für welches ich das Botschafteramt übe in Banden, so dass ich in ihm Zuversicht beweisen möge, wie es meine Pflicht ist zu reden.

Ein gnädiger Gruß

Damit aber auch ihr wisset, wie es mit mir steht, wie ich mich befinde, so wird euch Tychikus alles kund tun, der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener im Herrn,

welchen ich eben zu dem Zwecke zu euch gesandt habe, damit ihr erfahret, wie es mit uns stehe, und er eure Herzen tröste.

Friede sei den Brüdern, und Liebe mit Glaube von Gott dem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!

Die Gnade sei mit allen, welche unsern Herrn Jesum Christum in Unvergänglichkeit lieben! Amen.
