- Kapitel 61 -

You have heard my vow

God, listen to me and answer my prayer.

While I am discouraged and far from my home, I am calling out to you. Lead me to a place that will be like a high rock on top of which I will be safe.

You have been my refuge; you have been like a strong tower in which my enemies cannot attack me.

Allow me to live close to your sacred tent all during my life! Allow me to be safe as a little bird is safe under its mother’s wings.

God, you heard me when I solemnly promised to give offerings to you; you have given to me the blessings that belong to those who have an awesome respect for you.

I am the king of Israel; please allow me to live and rule for many years, and allow my descendants to rule also.

Allow us to rule forever while you observe us; watch over us while you faithfully love us and do for us what you promised.

If you do that, I will always sing to praise you while I offer to you each day the sacrifices that I promised to give to you.

Du hast mein Gelübde erhört

Zum Ende, aus Davids Liedern.

Erhöre, o Gott! mein Flehen, hab acht auf mein Gebet!

Vom Ende der Erde rufe ich zu dir, da mein Herz in Ängsten ist. Du erhobst mich auf einen Felsen, leitetest mich;

denn du warst meine Hoffnung, ein fester Turm gegen den Feind.

Ich werde immerdar in deinem Zelte weilen, beschirmt sein unter dem Schatten deiner Flügel.

Denn du, mein Gott! hast mein Gebet erhört, hast denen das Erbteil gegeben, die deinen Namen fürchten.

Du wirst zu den Lebenstagen des Königs Tage hinzufügen, seine Jahre von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht währen lassen.

Immerdar bleibt er vor dem Angesichte Gottes. Wer wird seine Barmherzigkeit und Treue erforschen?

So will ich deinem Namen ewig lobsingen, auf dass ich meine Gelübde erfülle Tag um Tag.
