Listen to my words

Give ear to my words, O Lord , consider my meditation.

Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord ; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.(a)

Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.(b)

But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.(c)

Lead me, O Lord , in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.(d)

For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.(e)

Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.(h)

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.(j)

For thou, Lord , wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.(k)

Hört auf meine Worte

Zum Ende, für die Erbin, ein Psalm Davids.

Lass, o Herr! meine Worte zu deinen Ohren dringen, vernimm mein Rufen!

Merke auf mein flehentliches Gebet, o mein König und mein Gott!

Denn ich bete zu dir, o Herr! früh am Morgen erhörst du mein Rufen.

Früh am Morgen stehe ich vor dir und schaue aus, denn du bist kein Gott, der Unrecht liebt.

Und der Frevler darf nicht bei dir weilen noch bestehen die Ungerechten vor deinen Augen.

Du hassest alle, die Böses tun, vertilgst alle, die Lügen reden, den Mann des Blutes und des Truges verabscheut der Herr.

Ich aber werde ob der Fülle deiner Barmherzigkeit in dein Haus kommen, anbeten gegen deinen heiligen Tempel hin in Furcht vor dir.

Herr! leite mich in deiner Gerechtigkeit, um meiner Feinde willen führe mich auf geradem Wege vor dir.

denn keine Wahrhaftigkeit ist in ihrem Munde, ihr Herz ist eitel.

Ein offenes Grab ist ihr Schlund, mit ihren Zungen üben sie Trug, gehe ins Gericht mit ihnen, o Gott! Lass sie mit ihren Anschlägen zu Falle kommen, verstoße sie ob der Menge ihrer Missetaten, denn sie haben dich zum Zorne gereizt, o Herr!

Und es sollen sich alle freuen, die auf dich vertrauen, sie werden frohlocken immerdar und du wirst unter ihnen wohnen. Und es werden sich rühmen in dir alle, die deinen Namen lieben,

denn du segnest den Gerechten. O Herr! wie mit einem Schilde umgibst du uns mit deiner Huld.
