The Book of Psalms

The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.(a)

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.(b)

Thy mercy, O Lord , is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord , thou preservest man and beast.(c)

How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.(d)

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.(e)

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.(f)

Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

Es beschließt der Gottlose bei sich, zu sündigen; Furcht Gottes ist nicht vor seinen Augen.

Denn trüglich handelt er vor dessen Angesichte, so dass kein Frevel hassenswert erscheint.

Die Worte seines Mundes sind Frevel und Trug; er will nicht klug werden, um Gutes zu tun.

Frevel sinnt er auf seinem Lager; er tritt auf jeden nicht guten Weg, das Böse hasst er nicht.

O Herr! bis an den Himmel reicht deine Gnadenhuld und deine Treue bis an die Wolken.

Deine Gerechtigkeit ist wie die Berge Gottes, deine Gerichte wie eine große Tiefe; Menschen und Vieh hilfst du, o Herr!

Wie vielfältig ist dein Erbarmen, o Gott! Die Menschenkinder bergen sich in Zuversicht unter dem Schatten deiner Flügel.

Sie laben sich reichlich von der Überfülle deines Hauses und du tränkst sie mit dem Strome deiner Wonne.

denn bei dir ist die Quelle des Lebens und in deinem Lichte schauen wir Licht.

Lass dein Erbarmen schauen über die, welche dich kennen, und deine Gerechtigkeit über die, welche aufrichtigen Herzens sind.

Nicht komme der Fuß der Hoffart über mich und die Hand des Sünders erschüttere mich nicht!

Siehe da, gefallen sind, die Unrecht tun; sie sind hinausgestoßen und können sich nicht erheben.
