- Kapitel 125 -

The Lord surrounds his people

They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.(a)

Do good, O Lord , unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.

Der HERR umgibt sein Volk

Stufengesang. Die auf den Herrn vertrauen, sind wie der Berg Sion; es wankt nicht in Ewigkeit, wer wohnt

in Jerusalem. Rings um dasselbe sind Berge und der Herr um sein Volk von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.

Nicht wird der Herr die Zuchtrute der Sünder auf dem Anteile der Gerechten ruhen lassen, dass nicht die Gerechten ihre Hände nach Unrecht ausstrecken.

Den Guten tue Gutes, Herr! und denen, die aufrichtigen Herzens sind.

Doch die auf krumme Wege abbiegen, wird der Herr hinwegraffen mit den Übeltätern. Friede komme über Israel!
