- Kapitel 5 -

And I saw in the right hand of him that sate vpon the throne, a Booke written within, and on the backside, sealed with seuen seales.

And I sawe a strong Angell which preached with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open ye booke, and to loose the seales thereof?

And no man in heauen, nor in earth, neither vnder the earth, was able to open the Booke, neither to looke thereon.

Then I wept much, because no man was foud worthy to open, and to reade the Booke, neither to looke thereon.

And one of the Elders saide vnto me, Weepe not: beholde, that Lion which is of the tribe of Iuda, that roote of Dauid, hath obteined to open the Booke, and to loose the seuen seales thereof.

Then I behelde, and loe, in the middes of the throne, and of the foure beasts, and in the mids of the Elders, stoode a Labe as though he had bene killed, which had seuen hornes, and seuen eyes, which are the seuen spirites of God, sent into all the world.

And hee came, and tooke the Booke out of the right hand of him that sate vpon the throne.

And when he had taken ye Booke, ye foure beasts and the foure and twenty Elders fel downe before the Lambe, hauing euery one harps and golden vials full of odours, which are the praiers of the Saintes,

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthie to take the Booke, and to open the seales thereof, because thou wast killed, and hast redeemed vs to God by thy blood out of euery kinred, and tongue, and people, and nation,

And hast made vs vnto our God Kings and Priests, and we shall reigne on the earth.

The Lamb Exalted

Then I behelde, and I heard the voice of many Angels round about the throne, and about the beastes and the Elders, and there were ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousand thousands,

Saying with a loude voice, Worthie is the Lambe that was killed to receiue power, and riches, and wisdome, and strength, and honour, and glory, and praise.

And al the creatures which are in heauen, and on the earth, and vnder the earth, and in the sea, and al that are in them, heard I, saying, Praise, and honour, and glory, and power be vnto him, that sitteth vpon the throne, and vnto the Lambe for euermore.

And the foure beasts said, Amen, and the foure and twentie Elders fell downe and worshipped him that liueth for euermore.

Das Lamm nimmt die Schriftrolle

Und ich sah auf der Rechten dessen, der auf dem Throne saß, ein Buch, das inwendig und auswendig beschrieben und mit sieben Siegeln versiegelt war.

Und ich sah einen gewaltigen Engel, der mit mächtiger Stimme ausrief: Wer ist würdig, das Buch zu öffnen und seine Siegel zu lösen?

Und niemand, weder im Himmel, noch auf Erden, noch unter der Erde, vermochte das Buch zu öffnen, noch es einzusehen.

Da weinte ich sehr, weil niemand würdig erfunden wurde, das Buch zu öffnen, noch es einzusehen.

Aber einer von den Ältesten sprach zu mir: Weine nicht! Siehe, der Löwe aus dem Stamme Juda, die Wurzel Davids, hat gesiegt, das Buch zu öffnen und die sieben Siegel desselben zu lösen.

Und ich schaute, und siehe, inmitten des Thrones und der vier lebenden Wesen und inmitten der Ältesten stand ein Lamm wie getötet, und es hatte sieben Hörner und sieben Augen, dies sind die Geister Gottes, welche ausgesandt sind in alle Lande.

Und es kam, und nahm das Buch aus der Rechten dessen, der auf dem Throne saß

Würdig ist das Lamm

Und als es das Buch geöffnet hatte, fielen die vier lebenden Wesen und die vierundzwanzig Ältesten nieder vor dem Lamme, jeder eine Harfe und goldene Schalen voll Rauchwerks haltend, welches die Gebete der Heiligen sind.

Und sie sangen ein neues Lied und sprachen: Würdig bist du, Herr! das Buch zu nehmen und seine Siegel zu öffnen; denn du wurdest getötet und hast uns Gott mit seinem Blute erkauft aus allen Stämmen, und Sprachen, und Völkern, und Nationen.,

und hast uns unserm Gott zu einem Königtume und zu Priestern gemacht; und wir werden herrschen auf der Erde.

Und ich schaute und hörte die Stimme vieler Engel rings um den Thron her, und um die Wesen und die Ältesten; ihre Zahl war tausendmal tausend;

und sie riefen mit lauter Stimme: Würdig ist das Lamm, das getötet worden ist, zu empfangen die Macht, und Gottheit, und Weisheit, und Stärke, und Ehre, und Herrlichkeit und Lobpreisung.

Und alle Geschöpfe, die im Himmel und auf Erden sind und unter der Erde und auf dem Meere und in demselben, alle hörte ich sagen: Dem, der auf dem Throne sitzt, und dem Lamme sei der Preis und die Ehre, und die Herrlichkeit, und die Macht in alle Ewigkeit!

Und die vier Wesen sprachen: Amen! Und die vierundzwanzig Ältesten fielen auf ihr Angesicht nieder und beteten ihn an, der in alle Ewigkeit lebt.
