- Kapitel 3 -

And I sayd, Heare, I pray you, O heads of Iaakob, and yee princes of the house of Israel: should not ye knowe iudgement?

But they hate the good, and loue the euill: they plucke off their skinnes from them, and their flesh from their bones.

And they eate also the flesh of my people, and flay off their skinne from them, and they breake their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.

Then shall they crye vnto the Lord, but he will not heare them: he wil euen hide his face from them at that time, because they haue done wickedly in their workes.

Thus saith the Lord, Concerning the prophets that deceiue my people, and bite them with their teeth, and cry peace, but if a man put not into their mouthes, they prepare warre against him,

Therefore night shalbe vnto you for a vision, and darkenesse shalbe vnto you for a diuination, and the sunne shall goe downe ouer the prophets, and the day shalbe darke ouer them.

Then shall the Seers bee ashamed, and the southsayers confounded: yea, they shall all couer their lippes, for they haue none answere of God.

Yet notwithstanding I am full of power by the Spirite of the Lord, and of iudgement, and of strength to declare vnto Iaakob his transgression, and to Israel his sinne.

Heare this, I pray you, ye heades of the house of Iaakob, and princes of the house of Israel: they abhorre iudgement, and peruert all equitie.

They build vp Zion with blood, and Ierusalem with iniquitie.

The heads thereof iudge for rewardes, and the Priestes thereof teache for hyre, and the prophets thereof prophecie for money: yet wil they leane vpon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among vs? no euill can come vpon vs.

Therefore shall Zion for your sake bee plowed as a field, and Ierusalem shalbe an heape, and the mountaine of the house, as the hye places of the forest.

Böse Herrscher und Propheten

Wieder sprach ich: Höret, ihr Häupter Jakobs, ihr Führer des Hauses Israel! Ist es nicht eure Sache zu wissen, was recht ist?

Die ihr das Gute hasst und das Böse liebt, die ihr den Leuten gewaltsam die Haut abziehet und das Fleisch von ihrem Gebein.

Sie verzehren das Fleisch meines Volkes und ziehen ihnen die Haut ab, zermalmen dessen Gebein und zerstücken es, wie den Inhalt eines Kessels und wie Fleisch in dem Topfe.

Einst werden sie zu dem Herrn rufen, aber er wird sie nicht erhören und er wird sein Antlitz vor ihnen zu jener Zeit verbergen, wie sie Böses geübt nach ihren Taten.

So spricht der Herr wider die Propheten, welche mein Volk verführen; welche mit ihren Zähnen beißen, während sie Frieden verkünden, und dem, der ihnen nichts in den Mund gibt, den Krieg erklären.

Darum soll Nacht über euch kommen statt eines Gesichtes und Finsternis statt Wahrsagens, die Sonne soll über den Propheten untergehen und der Tag sich über ihnen verfinstern.

Da werden die Seher schamrot werden, die Wahrsager beschämt werden und alle werden ihr Angesicht verhüllen, weil kein Ausspruch von Gott kommt.

Ich aber bin mit der Kraft des Geistes vom Herrn erfüllt, erfüllt mit Recht und Stärke, um Jakob seine Missetat zu verkünden und Israel seine Sünden.

Höret dies, ihr Fürsten des Hauses Jakob und ihr, Richter des Hauses Israel! die ihr das Recht verabscheut und alles verdreht, was gerade ist,

die ihr mit Blutvergießen Sion baut und Jerusalem mit Unrecht!

Seine Fürsten sprechen für Geschenke Recht, seine Priester lehren um Lohn, seine Propheten weissagen um Geld und doch verlassen sie sich auf den Herrn und sagen: Ist nicht der Herr in unserer Mitte? Kein Unglück wird über uns kommen!

Darum wird eurethalben Sion wie ein Feld umgepflügt und Jerusalem wird zum Trümmerhaufen und der Tempelberg bewaldete Höhen werden.
