- Kapitel 6 -

Dare any of you, hauing businesse against an other, be iudged vnder the vniust, and not vnder the Saintes?

Doe ye not knowe, that the Saintes shall iudge the worlde? If the worlde then shalbe iudged by you, are ye vnworthie to iudge the smallest matters?

Knowe ye not that we shall iudge the Angels? howe much more, things that perteine to this life?

If then ye haue iudgements of things perteining to this life, set vp them which are least esteemed in the Church.

I speake it to your shame. Is it so that there is not a wise man among you? no not one, that can iudge betweene his brethren?

But a brother goeth to law with a brother, and that vnder the infidels.

Nowe therefore there is altogether infirmitie in you, in that yee goe to lawe one with another: why rather suffer ye not wrong? why rather susteine yee not harme?

Nay, yee your selues doe wrong, and doe harme, and that to your brethren.

Members of Christ

Knowe yee not that the vnrighteous shall not inherite the kingdome of God? Be not deceiued: neither fornicatours, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor wantons, nor buggerers,

Nor theeues, nor couetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners shall inherite the kingdome of God.

And such were some of you: but yee are washed, but yee are sanctified, but yee are iustified in the Name of the Lord Iesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

All thinges are lawfull vnto mee, but all thinges are not profitable. I may doe all things, but I will not be brought vnder the power of any thing.

Meates are ordeined for the bellie, and the belly for the meates: but God shall destroy both it, and them. Nowe the bodie is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the bodie.

And God hath also raised vp the Lord, and shall raise vs vp by his power.

Knowe yee not, that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

Doe ye not knowe, that he which coupleth himselfe with an harlot, is one body? for two, sayeth he, shalbe one flesh.

But hee that is ioyned vnto the Lord, is one spirite.

The Temple of the Holy Spirit

(Romans 12:1–8; 1 Corinthians 3:16–23)

Flee fornication: euery sinne that a man doeth, is without the bodie: but hee that committeth fornication, sinneth against his owne bodie.

Knowe yee not, that your body is the temple of the holy Ghost, which is in you, whom ye haue of God? and yee are not your owne.

For yee are bought for a price: therefore glorifie God in your bodie, and in your spirit: for they are Gods.

Verklagt die Brüder nicht

Wagt es jemand von euch, der einen Handel mit einem andern hat, denselben bei den Ungerechten entscheiden zu lassen, und nicht bei den Heiligen?

Oder wisset ihr nicht, dass die Heiligen über diese Welt Richter sein werden? Wenn denn die Welt durch euch gerichtet werden wird, seid ihr nicht würdig, über geringfügige Dinge zu Gericht zu sitzen?

Wisset ihr nicht, dass wir Engel richten werden? Um wie viel mehr weltliche Dinge?

Wenn ihr nun weltliche Rechtshändel habt, so bestellet die unansehnlichsten in der Gemeinde zu Richtern.

Zu eurer Beschämung sage ich es. Also ist denn kein Weiser unter euch, auch nicht einer, der zwischen seinen Brüdern Recht sprechen könnte?

Vielmehr rechtet ein Bruder mit dem Bruder, und das vor den Ungläubigen?

Nun ist es schon überhaupt ein Fehler unter euch, dass ihr Rechtsstreite miteinander habt. Warum leidet ihr nicht lieber Unrecht? Warum lasset ihr euch nicht lieber übervorteilen?

So aber tut ihr selbst Unrecht und übervorteilt, und das an Brüdern.

Oder wisset ihr nicht, dass Ungerechte das Reich Gottes nicht besitzen werden? Täuschet euch nicht! Weder Unzüchtige, noch Götzendiener, noch Ehebrecher,

noch Weichlinge, noch Knabenschänder, noch Habsüchtige, noch Geizige, noch Trunkenbolde, noch Lästerer, noch Raubsüchtige werden das Reich Gottes ererben.

Und solche sind einige von euch gewesen; aber ihr seid abgewaschen, aber ihr seid geheiligt, aber ihr seid gerechtfertigt in dem Namen unsers Herrn Jesus Christus und in dem Geiste unseres Gottes.

Gott verherrlichen in Leib und Geist

Alles ist mir erlaubt, aber nicht alles frommt; alles ist mir erlaubt, aber ich will mich von nichts knechten lassen.

Die Speise ist für den Bauch, und der Bauch für die Speise; Gott aber wird sowohl jene als diese abtun. Aber der Leib ist nicht für die Unzucht, sondern für den Herrn, und der Herr für den Leib.

Gott aber hat nicht nur den Herrn auferweckt, sondern er wird auch uns durch seine Kraft auferwecken.

Wisset ihr nicht, dass eure Leiber Glieder Christi sind? Sollte ich also die Glieder Christi nehmen und sie zu Gliedern einer Buhlerin machen? Das sei ferne!

Oder wisset ihr nicht, dass wer einer Buhlerin anhängt, ein Leib mit ihr wird? Denn es werden (sagt er) die Zwei ein Leib sein.

Wer aber dem Herrn anhängt, ist ein Geist mit ihm.

Fliehet die Unzucht! Jede Sünde, welche der Mensch begeht, bleibt außerhalb des Leibes; wer aber Unzucht treibt, sündigt gegen seinen eigenen Leib.

Oder wisset ihr nicht, dass eure Glieder ein Tempel des Heiligen Geistes sind, der in euch ist, den ihr von Gott habt, und dass ihr nicht euer eigen seid?

Denn um hohen Preis seid ihr erkauft worden. Verherrlichet und traget Gott in eurem Leibe!
