- Kapitel 10 -

(Ezekiel 3:1–15)

And I saw another strong Angel, descending from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet were like columns of fire.

And he held in his hand a small open book. And he stationed his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot upon the land.

And he cried out with a great voice, in the manner of a lion roaring. And when he had cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices.
4
And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write. But I heard a voice from heaven, saying to me: “Seal the things that the seven thunders have spoken, and do not write them.”(a) (b)

And the Angel, whom I saw standing upon the sea and upon the land, lifted up his hand toward heaven.
6
And he swore by the One who lives forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that are in it; and the earth, and the things that are in it; and the sea, and the things that are in it: that the time will not be any longer,

but in the days of the voice of the seventh Angel, when he shall begin to sound the trumpet, the mystery of God will be completed, just as he has proclaimed in the Gospel, through his servants the Prophets.(c)

And again, I heard a voice from heaven speaking with me and saying: “Go and receive the open book from the hand of the Angel who stands upon the sea and upon the land.”

And I went to the Angel, saying to him that he should give the book to me. And he said to me: “Receive the book and consume it. And it shall cause bitterness in your stomach, but in your mouth it shall be sweet like honey.”
10
And I received the book from the hand of the Angel, and I consumed it. And it was sweet like honey in my mouth. And when I had consumed it, my stomach was made bitter.
11
And he said to me, “It is necessary for you to prophesy again about many nations and peoples and languages and kings.”

Der mächtige Engel mit dem Büchlein

(Hesekiel 3,1-15)

Und ich sah einen anderen gewaltigen Engel vom Himmel herabsteigen, angetan mit einer Wolke, und der Regenbogen war über seinem Haupte, sein Antlitz war wie die Sonne, und seine Füße wie Feuersäulen;

und in seiner Hand hatte er ein geöffnetes Büchlein. Und er setzte seinen rechten Fuß auf das Meer, seinen linken aber auf das Land,

und rief mit mächtiger Stimme, so wie ein Löwe brüllt. Und als er gerufen hatte, redeten die sieben Donner mit ihrem Schalle.

Und als die sieben Donner mit ihrem Schalle geredet hatten, wollte ich schreiben; doch ich hörte eine Stimme vom Himmel zu mir sagen: Versiegle, was die sieben Donner geredet haben, und schreibe es nicht!

Und der Engel, den ich auf dem Meere und auf dem Lande stehen sah, erhob seine Hand zum Himmel,

und schwor bei dem, der da lebt in alle Ewigkeit, der den Himmel geschaffen hat und was in ihm ist, und die Erde und was auf ihr ist, und das Meer und was in ihm ist, dass hinfort keine Frist mehr sein soll;
7
sondern in den Tagen der Stimme des siebenten Engels, wenn er anfängt in die Posaune zu stoßen, wird das Geheimnis Gottes vollendet werden, wie er durch seine Diener, die Propheten, die frohe Botschaft kundgetan.

Johannes isst das Büchlein

Und ich hörte die Stimme aus dem Himmel abermals zu mir reden, und sagen: Gehe hin, und nimm das geöffnete Buch aus der Hand des Engels, der auf dem Meere und auf dem Lande steht!

Und ich ging hin zu dem Engel, und sagte ihm, dass er mir das Büchlein geben möge. Er sprach zu mir: Nimm das Büchlein, und iss es; in deinem Leibe wird es dir herb sein, aber in deinem Munde süß wie Honig.

Und ich nahm das Büchlein aus der Hand des Engels und aß es, und es war in meinem Munde süß wie Honig; als ich es aber gegessen hatte, ward es bitter in meinem Leibe.
11
Und er sprach zu mir: Du mußt noch einmal weissagen über viele Völker und Nationen und Sprachen und Könige.
