- Kapitel 2 -

Reward for the seeker of wisdom

1
My son, if you would accept my words, and conceal my commandments within you,
2
so that your ears may listen to wisdom, then bend your heart in order to know prudence.
3
For if you would call upon wisdom and bend your heart to prudence,
4
if you will seek her like money, and dig for her as if for treasure,
5
then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and you will discover the knowledge of God.
6
For the Lord bestows wisdom, and out of his mouth, prudence and knowledge.
7
He will preserve the salvation of the righteous, and he will protect those who walk in simplicity:
8
serving the paths of justice, and guarding the ways of sanctity.
9
Then you shall understand justice and judgment, and equity, and every good path.
10
If wisdom is to enter into your heart, and if knowledge is to become pleasing to your soul,
11
then counsel must guard you, and prudence must serve you,
12
so that you may be rescued from the evil way, and from the man who speaks perversities,
13
from those who leave the straight path to walk in dark ways,
14
who rejoice when they have done evil, and who exult in the most wicked things.
15
Their ways are perverse, and their steps are infamous.
16
So may you be rescued from the foreign woman, and from the outsider, who softens her speech,(a)
17
and who leaves behind the Guide of her youth,
18
and who has forgotten the covenant of her God. For her household inclines toward death, and her paths toward Hell.
19
All those who enter to her will not return again, nor will they take hold of the paths of life.

Walking in the way of wisdom

20
So may you walk in the good way, and keep to the difficult paths of the just.(b)
21
For those who are upright shall live upon the earth, and the simple shall continue upon it.
22
Yet truly, the impious shall perish from the earth, and those who act unjustly shall be taken away from it.

Belohnung für den Sucher der Weisheit

Mein Sohn! wenn du meine Belehrungen annimmst und meine Gebote bei dir bewahrst,
2
so dass dein Ohr auf die Weisheit merkt, so neige dein Herz der Erkenntnis der Klugheit zu.
3
Denn wenn du die Weisheit anrufst und dein Herz der Klugheit zuneigst,
4
wenn du sie suchst wie Geld und sie wie Schätze ausgräbst,
5
dann wirst du die Furcht des Herrn verstehen und die Erkenntnis Gottes erlangen.
6
Denn der Herr verleiht Weisheit und aus seinem Munde kommt Klugheit und Erkenntnis.
7
Er bewahrt den Rechtschaffenen Heil und beschirmt die, welche unsträflich wandeln,
8
da er die Bahnen der Gerechtigkeit behütet und die Wege der Heiligen beschützt.
9
Alsdann wirst du Gerechtigkeit und Rechtsliebe verstehen, Geradheit und jeden Weg des Guten.
10
Wenn Weisheit in dein Herz einkehrt und deine Seele an Erkenntnis Gefallen findet,
11
so wird Umsicht dich bewahren und Verständigkeit dich behüten,
12
dass sie dich vom Wege des Bösen abhalten und von jedem, der Verkehrtes redet,
13
von denen, die den rechten Weg verlassen und auf finsteren Wegen wandeln,
14
die sich freuen, wenn sie Böses getan, und über die schlimmsten Dinge frohlocken,
15
deren Wege verkehrt sind und deren Schritte schändlich;
16
dass sie dich von dem fremden Weibe rette, und der Fremden, die schmeichelnde Reden führt
17
und den Führer ihrer Jugend im Stich lässt
18
und des Bundes ihres Gottes vergessen hat; denn zum Tode sinkt ihr Haus herab und in die Unterwelt führen ihre Pfade;
19
alle, die zu ihr eingehen, kehren nicht wieder und erreichen die Pfade des Lebens nicht;

Auf dem Weg der Weisheit wandeln

20
dass du auf dem Wege des Guten wandelst und die Pfade der Gerechten einhaltest.
21
Denn die Rechtschaffenen werden das Land bewohnen und die Unschuldigen in demselben bleiben.
22
die Gottlosen aber werden aus dem Lande ausgerottet, und die unrecht handeln, daraus hinweggenommen werden.
